Building Britain'sSovereign AIInfrastructure

Project Rubicon brings together land, power, development expertise, compute, and capital to build a leading UK-controlled portfolio of AI infrastructure. Our mission is to strengthen Britain’s ability to shape its own AI future, retaining control and creating lasting value at home.

Build the capacity. Retain the choice.

Britain should retain control of the infrastructure that shapes our AI future, not just consume what others choose to provide. We are working with landowners, developers, energy partners, and investors to turn national ambition into practical projects.

We are at a critical juncture in history, the outcome of which will set the geopolitical landscape for the next 50+ years. The AI race should not require Britain to surrender control of its strategic land, power, and compute infrastructure. There is another way: UK-controlled platforms that serve domestic and international demand. This keeps the ability to shape our future in our own hands.

01

Build UK capability

develop the land, energy and infrastructure foundations for a stronger domestic AI economy.

02

Bring opportunities together

connect suitable sites and credible development projects with expertise, customers, and long-term capital.

03

Create lasting value

support national agency, create industrial opportunity, and build the skills needed to participate in the AI economy.

Project Rubicon is focused on building UK AI capability, forging a template for other countries to emulate. We welcome collaboration with international organisations that can help us deliver our mission. The responsible advancement of AI is a global issue and requires global collaboration.

Our goal is to create a blueprint that other countries can follow, allowing each nation to take control of their own AI infrastructure destiny and ensure a balance of power in the future of AI.

An emerging portfolio spanning over 5 GW of power.

TARGET DELIVERY WINDOWS

We are currently working on a portfolio of projects across the UK covering over 5 GW of power. The projects are at varying stages of development, with target delivery windows from 2027 into the 2030s.

Our aim is to bring these opportunities forward in phases, aligning land, power, development and customer requirements to build lasting UK AI capability.

Capacity and timing are project-specific and subject to development milestones. Portfolio power figures are not equivalent to operational or contracted data-centre IT capacity.

Powering AI responsibly

Britain’s AI future needs power. Our ambition is to help build the energy infrastructure that makes it possible, not simply add demand and leave others to manage the consequences.

We believe power and compute should be planned together. That means considering where energy comes from, how reliably it can be delivered, how efficiently it is used, and how the project can contribute to both the local community and the wider energy system.

Private power. A wider purpose.

We assess every credible tool available to make our projects practical and deliverable. That may mean using a blend of dedicated generation, grid supply, and renewable energy, supported by private-wire connections and storage. The specific combination is shaped by each location’s needs and opportunities.

Private power is not an environmental claim in itself. The source of that power, its emissions, and its effects on local resources matter just as much as how it reaches the data centre.

Practical delivery. A greener destination.

Our ultimate goal is to build infrastructure that is powered exclusively by clean energy. Our aim is to establish a credible, project-specific pathway towards net zero for every development. This means assessing emissions from construction, operational energy use, energy-efficient equipment, water use, and strategies to recover useful heat from the outset.

We intend to set out targets and report progress as project designs and delivery plans mature, distinguishing what is achievable now from what depends on future infrastructure or technology. Where transitional generation is needed, its emissions and the route to lower-carbon alternatives will be explicit.

We want our portfolio to build the UK’s AI capability and contribute to the nation’s transition to lower-carbon energy.

Power opportunities, large and small.

We welcome conversations with owners and developers of power generation and energy storage sites about partnership, development and acquisition opportunities. Our interest is not limited to large schemes: smaller, well-positioned sites can also play a valuable role in the energy infrastructure we are building.

Whether you have an operating asset or a project in development, we would like to understand its potential. Together, we can explore how it could support Rubicon’s data-centre portfolio, contribute to the wider electricity system where feasible, and help realise your commercial ambitions.

A force for good in our communities

We have a choice about the future we build. Data centres can become closed-off industrial compounds, seen as consuming power and water while giving little back to the people around them. Or they can become a new source of opportunity bringing together local energy, infrastructure, skills, and enterprise to help communities thrive.

We want to be a force for good in our communities: open, visible, and accountable as part of local life. We want to change what a data centre means to its neighbours, from something imposed on a place to something that meaningfully contributes to its prosperity, identity, and future.

For communities that have experienced decades of industrial decline, investment in AI infrastructure should mean more than a construction project behind a fence. It should help bring skilled work, education and business opportunities, and renewed confidence to places whose contribution to Britain’s future has too often been overlooked.

Local resources. Shared opportunity.

Our approach is to connect the needs of our projects with the strengths and ambitions of the places around them. That means developing opportunities for local businesses and workers, building relationships with schools and colleges, and exploring how energy, heat and infrastructure can serve wider local needs.

Every infrastructure project has impacts on its local environment, and we are addressing these seriously. Whether the impacts relate to power, water, ecology, noise or traffic, we welcome honest dialogue with our neighbours and will take practical action to reduce them.

A commitment beyond construction.

Community benefit cannot be a promise made to secure planning permission and forgotten once the site is operational. We are committed to making our data-centre portfolio a force for good throughout its operating life, with lasting local relationships and benefits that communities can recognise and experience.

Our ambition is not simply to build infrastructure in a neighbourhood. It is to help bring life, opportunity and wealth back into it, and to earn our place as a valued part of that community.

LANDOWNERS

Land close to power? Let’s talk.

If you own or control land near substations, grid infrastructure or generation, we would like to hear from you. Share what you know about the site, its power position and development potential. You do not need every answer before starting a conversation.

DATA-CENTRE DEVELOPERS

Developing a data centre? Explore working with Rubicon.

Whether you are assessing a site, progressing planning or developing a data-centre project, tell us where you are and what would help move it forward. We welcome discussions about development collaboration, power, delivery, and capital.

Through our network of advisers, development partners, and capital relationships, we aim to help you advance your project and realise its commercial potential, while contributing to Britain’s sovereign AI infrastructure.

Planning your next phase of AI capacity?

We welcome enquiries from neoclouds, hyperscalers and other AI capacity buyers seeking a long-term UK infrastructure partner. Contact us to discuss project availability, indicative delivery windows, and the requirements that would make a site suitable for you.

Register your interest and tell us what capacity you need, where you need it, and when. We can then explore which opportunities in the emerging portfolio may fit your plans.

Enquiries do not reserve capacity or create a supply commitment. Availability and terms are confirmed through project-specific discussions.

Help build the future of sovereign AI in the UK.

We welcome conversations with investors who share our ambition to build enduring UK AI infrastructure. If you are interested in the land, power and development foundations of Britain’s AI future, get in touch to discuss Rubicon’s approach.
